Ok...so, I've asked this before and the answer is "roo"...but, I've attached a pix of this chicken's brother (same hatch, same parents), a definite roo (he crows and...well...loves the ladies in my flock)...and he/she really is very different; no crowing, clucks, looks different (waddles and tail especially) and is very shy! He (the definite roo) has no prob with being right there...isn't scared of anyone or any other chicken. he/she? well, as you can see from the pix below, hides and runs if anyone gets too close.

Here is the definite roo:

here are some pix of the questionable chicken. Tried to get different aspects...cause I couldn't get close enough to get the WHOLE bird:

rooster, looks like a black sexlink, what where the parents?

at around 4 months old, the roosters will start getting in their pointed saddle(back) and hackle(neck) feathers. The feathers will also come in metallic and shiny.

Rooster. Birds develop at different rates and have different personalities just like humans. He will probably eventually challenge his brother, but he may not be that interested for several more months.
