I have a salmon favorelle roo and an assortment of others (girls). The last few days I have noticed sweetcheeks has started to peck the girls on their lower back to get them to move or "just because". What is he doing? They're all 16 weeks old.

It sounds to me that he simply has developed a bad habit; some hens and chicks are known to do this too. I would put a wire partition in the coop to give the hens some reprieve, or try applying some "stop-plucking" ointment, which can be purchased a feed store. If this is allowed to go on, other hens may join in and eventually kill the victim.

Hmm, I was wondering the same thing. he's been chasing the girls all morning. I was going to keep him if she stayed timid... Guess I may need to find him a new home.
