Below are a couple of pictures of my 6.5 week old EE chick. S/he is supposed to be a pullet, but I'm kinda thinking s/he might be a roo because of the tail feathers. See how they are kinda curling? If it is a roo, he is more drab, and his comb is not near as pronounced as his two EE counterparts. But the other two EE's don't have very big tail feathers.

Here is another EE from the same order. S/he is more colorful and his/her comb is more pronounced. Thoughts on this one?

This is a head shot of the same chick above.

Thanks,

I'm not sure on the first one, need a comb pic. The second one looks like a roo with that much color at 6.5 weeks. My 21 week EE's don't have that much color in their combs.

Here are some head shots of all my EE's:

Are they all 3 roos? EE1 is the chick I didn't post the other day. His/her comb is more pronounced and pretty red.

edited to make sure I had all chicks labeled clearly and in the same order

EE #2 looks like a pullet...not sure about the other two but they look like they might be roosters.

the 2nd one is a roo for sure. the 1st one looks like a roo so far but time will tell. i'm not 100% on that one

Here are some updated pics of the chicks at 9 weeks old.

EE1: I've come to terms with the fact that that this one *must* be a roo. Look how big and red that comb is...

EE 2: Maybe the jury is still out on him/her. At least the comb is smaller, but the tail feathers do seem to curl backwards. Please be a pullett! *fingers crossed*

EE 3: I'm leaning toward roo on this one too.

Thanks for the feedback!

I was really hoping EE 3 could just be a real butch looking gal. *sigh* He is the nicest of my three EE's. EE 1 is pretty standoffish, but warming up, and EE 2 is kinda nuts. She acts terrified of me, but the other day out nowhere she flew up on my shoulder when I went into the chicken yard then totally freaked out when I tried to pet her.
