roof on run?

ok well today i went to home depot and got some chicken wire and its 36x50 so im probably going to do it in 5 10 foot peices in the shape of a squere. And then go back and get more for the roof. One prblem at only three feet tall with a roof i will have no way to get in there So im prably going to make it six feet tall with post and put in a door. Comment back and tell me what you think i still need some suggestions.

I live in Oregon where we get plenty rain. I have a roofed run and I'm so glad I do it allows the girls to be out in the run while raining instead of running for the coop, not to mention keeps everything dry and much cleaner.

Yes, you need a people door. We started out with a run that only had a door on top so that I could reach in and open the coop door. It was very restricting. So, we left that run attached, and added another run off the back that is taller and has a people door that I can get into. Have your door open in...not out. That way the chickens can't run past you when you open up the door. Oh, and add some roost bars in the run. They really enjoy their roosts bars.

alright guys thanks alot right now im planning just a three foot tall run with wire roof no door but will soon put in a door once i get more chickens.
