I'm getting ready to rehab another coop. The roofing consists of 2 corrugated plastic panels that will need to be replaced as they're cracked. I plan on replacing the existing panels with Ondura corrugated panels. There is no solid sheet of plywood under the existing panels - only the 2x4 braces which is what the existing panels were nailed to. Would it be better for me to add a sheet of plywood before I nail the new panels in place? Do I need some type of underlayment on the plywood if I need the plywood and before the new panels are put down? Here is a picture of the coop I'm getting ready to rehab:

Thanks.

no you dont need to ad ply but a coon could probably rip apart that ondura stuff. i'd use metal.

i went with shingles on mine because i figured it wouldnt get as hot as metal, also im not sure that a critter couldn't get thru some ondura but i work for lowes and we sell it and have never heard of any problems that would lead me to believe it would be easy by any means, of course i havent heard specific feedback from using it on a chicken coop but personally if i wanted to use it i wouldnt let idea of a predator damaging it stop me from trying it, especially on such a small roof where its not costing me a fortune.

I wouldn't think that the ondura would be that easy for coons to get through if it can with stand 120 mph winds. I think they would have had an easier time with the plastic sheets. I going to use the ondura on the coop I building. I'll cover the spaces between the rafters with hardware cloth for ventilation. My biggest problem is deciding on what color I want to use.
