Roofing?

Hi all thanks so much for feedback. O had not thought about leaving upper part all that open thinking of drafts and things. I loved the pic of tin roof I was thinking of something not nearly as cute in my imaginings! My hubby is leaning towards tin or that 5V suggestion.

Height I was thinking of cutting bottom posts just to lower overall structute but thought about leaving it and fencing that w chicken wire/hardwire for more places for them to hang out in run.

I plan on having additional shades added to the top or sides of the run, though the big bushes keep that area well shaded during hottest part of day

The balance between good air movement/exhaust of ammonia laden air and drafts strong enough to literally ruffle feathers on the roost can be tricky and hard to predict.

Heat is the worst risk, so too much ventilation is better than too little....you can always install baffles if you find the air movement is too strong in winter.

I use the Air Vents they use on top of houses for attic air disbursement. you cot a Round hole in the roof and put this high end under roofing and low end over roofing, and they have worked great, no wind, no rain, no snow, just plain ole ventilation.
You can buy them at Lowes , Home Depot, or any building supply store they are square, and are quite cheap, and last forever.
