I have 12 eggs in the incubator on day 13. I've had pretty good luck at maintaining 99.5 temp and about 50% humidity constant. Starting at day 18, "lockdown", what is the right humidity level? I've read mostly 60-65%, but some say 85%! I also have 6 eggs under a hen in the hen house because she went broody. I didn't trust her with all the eggs because I am not sure if she will quit! More questions to follow, lots more! Thanks for the help! I feel like an expectant mom

That’s not an easy question to answer. You’d think that inside the incubator would be the same for all of us but that’s not the case. Each incubator is a little different, even if it is the same make and model, and just moving it from one side of the room to the other can make a difference.

The good news is that you don’t have to have it exactly perfect for hatching. As long as you are in the general ballpark you should do fine.

What I suggest is picking a per cent between 65% and 80% and try it. Any number in that range gives you a reasonable chance of success. Maybe you will decide that the results are good and you’ve found what you will forever be happy with. Maybe you’ll decide you need to change it a bit for the next time. I can’t give you any guarantees about that. We’ve all been through it. There really is a pretty wide range that gives you a real good chance.

Good luck!
