rookie mistakes?

This lot of eggs is probably lost. Temps down to 96 or 97 you might just get a late hatch, but I strongly suspect that if the embryos survived at all at just 91 they would not have developed properly.

Live and learn.

OK - not good.

1st - dump the clear eggs & the one with the mass on the bottom that moved. That jelly stuff is probably the yolk that broke or bacteria.

The others - did you see any movement at all?

Here's the thing - its been 24 days - they are only partially developed. The chances the eggs will still be viable in another 14 days (sounds like what you need based on the size of the development) is very unlikely.

If it were me - I'd toss & start over.

Don't be discouraged though - we all go through this to one degree or another. I wasted 30 of my first eggs by messing up the humidity & even opened some live eggs I candled wrong.

My second batch was much better.

Live & learn

I had a hatch once where the thermometer was off by 6 degrees (too low). None of the eggs hatched and upon break open analysis I found that they were all underdeveloped and had been deceased. I am doubtful that with 91 degrees for such a large part of incubation that anything would hatch. I'm sorry.

Thank you for the seasoned insight. I'll remove the eggs you mentioned and leave in the other few till the weekend and recandle but I agree that they may be lossed as well.

The loss of both time and money hurts but the loss of time hurts the most. I suppose I'll shuffle on down to the "for sale" forum and see what I can find. I am very interested in Royal Palms and in NJ so if anyone sees this and have eggs or even poults for sale please PM me.

Thanks again to all who assisted me in my rookie crisis.
