Rookies - hen and me!

My lone surviving hen has been sitting on 5 eggs for 25 days. These were laid 3 weeks after my rooster died, so I'm pretty sure they're not fertile but I let her sit since I was sure she was lonely and it gave her something to do.

Now my question is, I do have some eggs from January and February -- that I suspect are fertile as my rooster was very active. Do I try switching some of these with the eggs she's been on? Do I just take the eggs away and give her a break from sitting?

if she has been sitting on unfertile eggs for 25 days and no chicks, I would give her a break.

Ok. Do you think i should give these "old" eggs -- that have been refrigerated -- a try with her in the future?

I don't use refrigerated eggs except for eating
