Roos? BO and Partridge Rock...help please.

I have a Partridge Rock roo. Yours looks more like my pullet. The cockerels have legs that are a brighter yellow. The pullets seem to have a darker wash down the front of their legs. Also the comb on my roo was much bigger and obvious at 4 weeks. I think yours is a pullet.

Just want to add that my partridge rock roo started to get greenish feathers at about 5 weeks.

The Partridge Rock is going solid colored with his feathers over his back and the top of his legs, unless that bird is uncharacteristically melanotic, it's a boy. And yes some males are very slow to develop comb in PRs, on some it grows like a weed. Depends on the lines.

I've had almost a hundred PRs, 98% of them feathered in like that or more solid. Two hens were very melanotic and had me guessing.

BO, pullet
PR, comb looks like a pullet, head looks like a pullet, feathers look roo all the way. I have had some of my hens develop a few dark feathers, but that looks more like those dark black-green rooster feathers that make them so pretty.

You diddnt say how old he is, but mine developed combs a lot faster then that. But still, I would say roo based on those green feathers. Also, if he is getting a lot of green in his tail, that is rooster feathers.

They are SOOOO pretty though! I love PR roosters! I would sell you a pullet if you were closer....

He is 2 months old....thought for sure I put that above the pic, but guess I forgot lol

A BYC'er friend bought a small flock of PR from another BYC'er and when I saw them, I really wanted one of those hens! She's been trying to get me a pullet ever since, but all 3 chicks I kept have turned out to be roos.
