I, too, have been having problems with frostbite. I have two roosters that I have been bringing indoors off and on since yesterday because of bleeding combs. I know the one roo has frostbite. Some of his spikes are black and one keeps bleeding. It seems like it happened overnight, literally.
The other roo got in a fight yesterday and now has a wounded comb. I have been opening the coop up to the run, but all the chickens stayed inside today. I feel really bad for them, but they seem to be happy and healthy...other than the bleeding, but they aren't complaining about it.
My one roo, Mr. Big Time, with the frostbite has a much bigger comb than Otis, the fighter. I hope they all recover. I will just have to keep them locked in the coop until this weather breaks. I am glad to read the advice from this thread...it will help me figure out what to do for my guys.
Thanks!
