I am a new chicken owner and have loved the last 4 months as we've watched our day old chicks grow into chickens. We have two little cockerals and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the sounds they make when they find a snack and they want to share it with one of the girls!! I can't even describe it, but it is so sweet. Usually two or three girls dash over to see what they have and then fight over it. Last night, Scooter found a dead dried worm. He called and called, several came to check it out but no one wanted his "special snack" so he ate it! He made the funniest expression as he ate it.

Any way, they haven't been doing it very long and I love to hear that sound they make. It's so sweet!

Ahh, mine does that too! It's lovely isn't it.

I didn't know what he was doing at first, but then I clocked that when he does it they all come running. He's such a gentleman, always letting them through the door of the run first and moving over at the feed bowls.

Hehe! Yep, they do that. Ours is so enslaved to his ladies that if he thinks that a treat is particularly fine and no one responds to his calls, he'll carry it over to his favorite girl.

I tried to get video...this is the best I could do. My son kept calling the chickens with other snacks, but the chicken noises you hear are the ones that my cochin roo are making. He prefers to share with the white leghorn, Millie, but will share with the others too. He'll pick up a noodle, make his little noise, then drop it for a girl. He is such a gentleman!

OMG this is the cutest thing ever LOL! <3

I have two roos (in separate runs with separate ladies), and they both do that. I've even observed the younger roo (10mos) go over to the food trough, peck/pick up a laying pellet, and drop it for the girls calling them - LOL! So cute, and funny at the same time.
