Well roos will fight each other for the top position but today it got bloody. Our Silkie Roo got tore up a bit by one of the Rhode Island Red Roos. Roger is our biggest RIR Roo and definitely the boss but Rupert our other RIR Roo is #2 and more aggressive. Silkie is #3 and our EE Roo is bottom of the pecking order. They usually run before blood but not today ... Silkie is separated until no blood is left.

Love your photos! I've heard you can apply blue kote or the purple stuff to the affected area and reintegrate without issues. That is second hand knowledge for me, I suspect there is a bacteriostatic component to it but not 100% on that.

Really nice looking birds and very well kept. A shame the one got hit hard, glad you've got him all cleaned up! My rooster didn't get into a fight, but he whacked his head on something hard the other night. Poor guy looked terrible, he's separated now but hoping he heals quick. He hates just seeing the flock and not being with 'em.

They really are not happy when you separate them from the flock

Indeed, I would not have separated him but the hens were causing it to get worse and worse and he could not heal when they were causing the wound to open up again. Separation is a very tricky task! It may look easy... But nope, it ain't.
