Roost? 2X4 or....?

I did them with the 2" side up. What is "frost bite" temperature? I live in wa so we get 25 at the lowest

You're probably fine for now, but you're going to want to to modify it sooner or later to give them the flat surface for them to perch on. I have a 1x3 in my tractor right now that had been a roost with the 1 by side up. that was until I dislodged one of the screws holding it up. The girls can still get to the branches that I have in there that are even more higher up, so I figure when I get around to finishing the nest boxes I'll correct it.
