Bummer you are so North of me. I have a BUNCH of in boxes asphalt shingles that were given to us for our coop. They have been sitting on a pallet here forever....

Bah yea no doubt, thanks for the offer none the less. I did put a craigslist ad for some of that currugated metal roofing and one mention that I could find some 150 miles north of me lol. I'll just put up another begging for any sort of roofing material and see what I come up with.

TBH I'm quite done spending money on this coop... Meh better half would agree. It got a bit out of hand even though all the 2x4's and osb was out of a dumpster all the rest of stuff really adds up. It was getting to the same way as my whole bass fishing thing was for a while... Always need a new lure cause"It's what they are hittin on now..." lol for shame

Hey everyone, I just wanted to update with what I ended up doing after everything was considered. It took me a while still to figure out how I wanted it but I came up with something that the chooks and I could agree on. It's 2' off the floor and 18" away from the wall. It gooes 4" past the frame pieces and seems really sturdy. I had come up with a cool piece of eucalyptus branch to put in there but when I threw it up there it seemed too narrow so i went back to the 2x4 idea. Thanks for your input all! I love having no floor space taken up by it!

Now if I can just finish screwin on the final couple pieces and get a roof on and I will finally be done with this project!

How ya like that cardboard door!? I haven't found a piece of scrap metal for a door yet. one these days...
