Roost for Chicks!

It's not the prettiest, straightest or the 100% level but I built them a little roost.

Within 5 minutes 2 jumped on the bottom rung to explore.

The board is there to add another element of "play" for them to explore.

They are 2 weeks old on Monday. The top roost is still about 1.5 feet below the wire cover of the brooder.

The momma heating pad is elevated and down to medium (settings are high, medium and low). They are sitting on top more than under.

I put a big chunk of sod in the brooder about 5 days ago. They love attacking it and scratching out dirt. I'm not worried about grit for these ladies!

Rearranged the feeder and waterer a few times. Keeps it interesting.

They certainly seem happy.
