Roost material

I’ve seen the 2x4 set on it’s wide side, but what about a natural roost such as a young black locust sapling? (It would give me incentive to weed out the latest black locust pop-ups!)

The natural roost work just fine, that`s all I used for the first 4 yrs.

Chickens would roost in the trees if they could and my neighbor has some that do roost in the trees.

I think I'll do one roost a la naturale and the other manmade 2x4! Let the ladies decide!

That`s what I did and they chose the 2x4`s.
