Roost setup to keep roost at 18" with poop board

We've built an enormous coop, so space for roosts is not an issue. My flock size is 17 currently and they are still currently in their 4'x6' coop. The roosts in the small coop are double stacked, high enough to allow for a poop board and leave space for a chicken to walk underneath the poop board. They run long-ways in the coop.

I am having trouble visualizing having 18" roosts, with a poop board. I want 18" roosts because bumblefoot runs rampant in my flock. We intend to use saplings for natural roosts. Anyone have ideas? Suggestions? Images?

The top of my built-in brooder is my droppings board but that's not what I'm showing. If you look to the right where the brooder does not go I have bins down there to catch the poop. How well would that work?

Well the removable containers could be a re placement for the poop board for sure. Do you scoop yours out or dump them? Currently I line mine with sand/cat litter, sweet pdz, or whatever I have that can be scoopable.

I rake the stuff off of the brooder into a bin and then dump the bin. I do not put sand, PDZ, or anything else in the bins or on the brooder.

I love liked scooping the poo because the wet poops stay nice and contained. But I still think I can make scooping work with the boxes.

What do you mean by '18" roosts'?

It is recommended for heavy breeds or for Bumblefoot-prone birds, that the roosts only be 18” off the floor, or so I have read out of 17 birds four have Bumblefoot.

Ehhhh....I don't buy it the roost height causing a staph infected wound(bumblefoot).
It could exacerbate an infected foot wound, but that what ramps are for.

Ive thought the same thing. I’ve also thought that because it is a staph infection, it’s probably just spreading from the birds sharing the same space. It would be far more practical to have higher roosts with poop boards I don’t need to stoop to scoop.

Hard to know where the staph resides...I would think more like outside.
Curious how old your 4 BF birds are and if you raised them from chicks.
