Roost!?!?

This ones huge ten feet tall about twelve wide

This is a small one simple to build

Larger one about five feet tall
My kids and I made some mini perches with branches and yarn for our chicks. They look like these but are much smaller. Thanks for the idea!! They are working great! We will be building bigger ones for the run area outdoors. We are going to make them a little diff for the inside of our coop.

The diagonal,s need to be at about 35 to 45 degree angle, this allows enough room between rungs so no one gets pooped on.The roost in the last photo is too vertical for sure. I will be posting photos of mine when i get home and get my chicken house built,

I built mine out of pallet material. I have a low roost ladder for the Big Chickens, Brahmas and have higher ladder roost and shelves around the wall for the others. The roost boards are wide enough for them to cover their feet during cold weather.

Don't know why it posted twice..
I like this! This is more like we are thinking for in our coop.

This one is from the back facing the front

And ill end it on a picture of the roof open design so light comes in has hardware cloth attached to the verticle 2x4's all the way around and clear roofing panels on the top that match the grooving of the galvanized roofing to keep it dry inside. I also recently put electric in each pen has its own breaker in the box so i can supply water heaters and heat lamps as needed next on my to-do list is the runs for the breeding pens i hope you guys enjoy!
your barn is wonderful! I will be showing your beautiful pics to my hubby for future ideas!

Hurry up! I want to see your pics!
I have 3 more days offshore and then i will be home and the work will begin, the house will be almost like my grand parents, and they never had less than 120 chickens, a few goats,2 plow horses,15 milk cows, a few geese and ducks and 4 acres of vegetables to work.

My tractor and coop are not huge (only have 3 chickens - 2 RIR and 1 EE) and so I can't make anything too big or high. Is a roost, using a fairly fat tree branch, that is raised 12-18" high okay? I'm reading a lot of comments about making sure they have to fly up or at least spread their wings to get up on a roost so they exercise a bit but not sure I can get something any higher than 18" due to my limitations.
that is ok as long as they can get on it and like it, it needs to be at least a bit higher than the top of your nest box's
