Rooster Advice

Hello all,

Within the past 4 months I have begun to mix younger chickens into my flock in hopes of receiving fresh eggs more often. As it just so happens, 2 of my 3 Silkie Bantams are male. I have a flock of 15 birds. That leaves approx 13 females to the boys. However, I am wondering if that is too much attention that they would be getting. Should I sell one of the boys to better manage my flock????

I'd just wait and see how it goes. It will depend on how gentle or rough the boys are with the girls.

And it will also depend on how gentle they are with each other. Be wary of bullies.

Good advice!!! I will wait another couple of weeks to see how it goes..... I hesitated to split them because they snuggle together in one heap of fluff on the floor of my coop every night... haha
