Rooster aggression? I've messed up.

Thank you for the good advice everyone. One last question. Do you think he would try to pull in my pullets if I did let them out? I keep mine up cuz I don't want them to roam the neighborhood.

Good for you! Too bad your neighbor doesn't feel the same.
Personally, I would not want other chickens in my yard and would stop feeding the 'visitors'.

Yes he’ll definitely steal your girls. By the way, if he does start getting aggressive, don’t run or panic. Instead, extend your leg and LET HIM FIGHT YOU. Raise your leg up and down in a gentle kicking motion, you may sweep him off his feet. It’s gonna hurt, especially if he has big spurs. If his spurs are pointy, wear shin guards or maybe just some really thick pants. He will get tired in a minute. Once he’s tired, chase him a few feet. By doing this you’re mimicking a pecking order fight. I believe this is the easiest way to show him you’re boss. If he walks behind you, initiate another “fight” by getting in his space and repeat the process. This is how I do it with roosters who are aggressive. I have a video of me doing it but I’m not sure how to post videos.

Now that I've read these and thought about it a little, reckon he may be doing that to me to say "hey throw the seeds down! We're here to eat so put them down"
Is that a possibility? And I have wondered if he crowed so close to the house to try to get me to come out and feed them. Or am I reading too much into this all? Lol

Well, if you typically go out to feed them when he crows, he might be responding to that behavior, sure!

They are pretty simple, they're man chickens.
If you've fed him before then quite possibly he is trying to butter you up for more seeds.
That old saying why buy the person when you can get the seeds for free?
He and his girls visit you, get fed and no harm comes to them, he's likely going to be as much of a gentleman as a rooster can be.
They do appreciate the smallest things being man chickens and all.

My rooster was always pretty docile, but lately he’s been difficult.
He constantly comes at me with his chest out, wing down, sideways rooster shuffle. He did that occasionally before, but now he does it every morning when I let them out, and every time I go to get in their yard. Also, before when he did that I’d lift my boot toads him and he’d back of, now when I lift my boot he pecks at it.
I’m wondering if he is still on higher alert after our predator attack a month and a half ago, or if he’s frustrated because he had 11 hens before and now he only has 4? Or if he’s just getting angry and ballsy as he gets older?

The shuffle thing isn't aggressive he's trying to move you.
He pecks because he's tired of you not moving.
His hens move when he shuffles but you don't, so you get pecked.
He is on alert, probably why he wants you to move so bad.
You feed him, can't be getting eaten.
