I am so sorry! We have lost several chickens to hawks. They are usually drug to the wooded area near the run and then torn open. We have had our rooster a year now and have only lost 1 since having him. I have heard they will fight a hawk or similar until they die to protect their girls so that may be what happened. We have 3 different runs and rotate the chickens between them. Two of them have more trees and shrubs and we do not have problems in those. We are working on planting more in the third because that is where the hawks usually try. We ran string with old CD's hanging on it and it seems to have helped some.
