I have noticed that my rooster does his "Hey Baby" dance mostly with hens who just came off the nest. Have also noticed that hens just off the nest are a lot more receptive than otherwise.
Quite a few hens rebuff his attempts. Some are pretty persistent with their refusal.
My recently unbroody hen is very persistent in her refusal.
What are your experiences? Is this normal or is my rooster a bit of a sissy?
