I have a 5 month old buff orpington rooster. Over night it seems he became aggressive towards me with pecking, dancing, circling, wing drop ect. 3 weeks now.I was determined to help him through this. Watching to see if he was excited hormones or just aggressive. Leaving him alone while in his area and respecting his space. At the same time trying to maintain its my space to feed and clean ect. I made sure to hold him 5 min or so everyday and rub head and feet. He is fine and enjoys that. Things seemed to improve a bit.
I have 3 older hens 3 years old. big Brahman hen, same size as him that wouldn't squat for him. 3 hens and a surprise rooster late spring this year. Baby girls just started eggs. They grew up with him no problems with submisiveness.the EE and older Buff slowly took to him. He is aggressive but they tolerate. Long of this story he went after and chase my big girl to a corner yesterday. She hid frozen while I was cleaning. I watched to try not interfere when he walked away she wouldn't move. I picked her up held he, rough breathing. When calm I put her to roost.
Today I went to check and she wedged herself into a safe space behind the water jug.head tucked. I pulled her out and her neck was bloody. I had set her down and he went after her. I had to grab him by the tail to the air. I held him for a minute in my arms to settle. Then scooped her up She is in house in a dog crate tonight.
What do I do? Help!
Cull him? Aggressive mating and Foolishly thinking I can work with this. He is my first rooster. The girls are all stressed. Dramatic difference in the coop. My 3 older hens are my girls, helped me through my cancer journey so they are special to me and I don't want them hurt. (My cancer is remission now).
I have small grandchildren and small dogs to consider as well.
Tonight I'm ready to do him in. Am I being hasty?

How is your hen acting?
Sitting quietly in crate. Starting perk up. Took some food and water. I need to bath her in the morning. Medicate her wounds.
How long do I keep her away from others with her injury?

Separate her until her wounds are completely healed.
Could you get a picture?
