Rooster attacked chicks, what do i do now?

Jemma I hope he improves I really do but if he does not even with all the weirdness you might have to consider the fact that the boy ain't right. I'm not anti rooster at all but if he dosen't improve with chicks keep an eye out for other bad behavior. Iv'e personally found when one "wart" pops up others follow quickly. If you seperate him from the girls if he is ever going to be agressive to you or your mom that will bring it out so do please be careful. This is just my knowledge from my own roosters, yours might be completely different but a heads up never hurts right? :)
Thanks, i really hope he's not, he bit me when he was four months after he came out of a pretty negligent environment and was barely exposed to humans, in his situation and coming from his background i am willing to make some exceptions if he turns aggressive.
Thank you though, this is fairly new information and definitely something for me to watch for.

I hope he straightens out too, it seems like ya'll are really attached to him and you've tried to treat him nicely and invested alot of effort into him.

okay so i ended up doing something different, the chicks are living in my small coop next to my big run, the chicks love it the little run is four times as big as their little dog crate and it's got roosts and a nice ladder to hang out on, i just had to replace the locks on the doors and run a hardware cloth skirt around the bottom so nothing can dig in. Tonight will be their first night in the little coop.
the big birds can always see the chicks and the chicks can always see the big birds, in a few weeks when the chicks are large enough to defend themselves i will let them all out to free range together and i hopefully won't have many issues (if rooster attacks them i can just grab him and lock him up while the girls get acquainted), I'm hoping rooster shapes up eventually, i think he sees the chicks as prey since he tries to eat small birds in the yard all of the time. He'll watch the chicks grow up into some very pretty girls and maybe he'll be better, i think he'd except chicks from a broody hen he loves his girls and they don't mind giving him a sharp peck on the head if he does something they don't like.
i suppose I'll wait and see what happens, I'm sure it will all work itself out but i am prepared to separate rooster if he's nasty when the little ones move into the big coop. I don't understand why he would be, i think this may be something he'll outgrow eventually (or at least i am hoping against hope).
I also want to thank everybody, I've gotten a lot of help and moving forward a lot of great information.
