Here's the latest. His wound is pretty clear. I used some blu Kote to assist in his flock reintroduction, and he hasn't been pecked since. I gotta say, I don't care for the stuff, but it seemed helpful in this particular instance. He's just so purple now !

His right eye definitely is still affected by the accident. He squints and closes it a lot while trying to see things with his good eye. I'm not sure if there's anything I can do to help restore his vision or eye health, but it isn't festering and doesn't seem to effect him too much.

He seems to be joining the flock okay. It's just him and two hens, and they seem to be okay with him being back. His temperament is definitely very different. He is way less confident, way more subdued. I'm not sure if he will defend the hens anymore, but maybe he just needs to regain his confidence.

I reinforced the perimeter of my fence, and now the only possible predator would come from above. I am not able to provide a covered run that can withstand new England winters at this time, but hopefully for next winter.

So glad to hear that he has healed and is back with his 2 hens. I just looked at the early pictures, and the healing is amazing. Hopefully, he will regain his confidence when his hormones are a little stronger in the spring. Thanks for the update.
