Rooster attacking my husband and I…

Cockerels can be rough, and stupid, and sometime improve over time, especially with a mature rooster and hens to 'school' them. However, too rough just isn't fine, ever, and too many cockerels or cock birds ruins life for the hens and pullets. You did the right thing!
There's a small livestock auction not far from here, and I will take excess birds there sometimes. Not nasty or sick birds, and never do I buy any there. Biosecurity! And I'm not foisting nasty critters off on anyone else.

My husband the former vegan is watching videos about how to tame him. He wants to hold him down and all that. I really don’t have any interest in chasing him and grabbing him forcing him into submission. I’ve already had to kick him and everything else, I don’t see how bullying him is going to remedy anything. I think he needs to move on.
Try a flock of just roosters. They are not as agressive without hens. You would have to keep them separate, but if you realy love that rooster, you can make it work.
