rooster attacking red bandana

i got a rooster that will attack anyone wearing a red cap or bandana, he is otherwise a gentle shy bird,blue or yellow etc is ok with him, has anyone had any exp with this? aparantly they can see color, let me no any thoughts on this.

chickens love red. yes they see in color, in fact, birds can see ultraviolet colors. how cool is that.

he is probably excited by the big, red thing. could be feeling like he needs to show dominance.

there was a story our g'ma told about chicken hawks attacking a red haired girl on their farm.
she wouldn't leave the house without a bandana ( NOT red) on her head.

Chickens will peck at anything red, that is why you want to make sure you never have a bloody bird in the flock.
