I have an 8 month old silkie rooster named Nugget, and I'm wondering if anyone here to me can figure out and explain how he feels about me. Every time he sees me, he gets excited and starts pacing against the fence trying to get to me, but his hackles aren't flared, and when I step into the enclosure he has no intention to hurt me. He does do that side step dance to me though. He has never flared his hackled at me or jumped at me, but he attacks everyone else in my family every once in a while. He follows me around wherever I go, and he crows as soon as I leave, and stops when I come back, and never crows when I'm in his sight. He also relaxes and even closes his eyes when I'm next to him. I'd love to know what you think!

My rooster acted the exact same way as yours .... until one day he flogged me out of nowhere. I really didn't think he would flog me but I was wrong. I wasn't injured but more surprised at what he had done since he always seemed to be nice to me.

Now he is gone. I probably wont have another rooster because I let them free range some. If he was caged up then maybe.
