My friends 5 months old Salmon favorelle started limping a few days ago. Looks like he hurt his leg. I told her to crate him in the coop and keep an eye on him. Now he can barely stand up and his wings are droopy. He’s eating and drinking fine, eats his treats. She’s been giving him vitamins the last two days. She can’t get him into a vet till Monday. She checked for bugs but no bugs. I also told her to treat for parasites to be safe. What else could be going on? I tried to post a video but it will not let me. The video looks like he hurt a leg.

Do you know if he's been vaccinated for Marek's disease? The symptoms are depressingly similar and often progress rapidly after onset. It could also be avian leucosis, another avian virus.

She should collect a poop sample just before she takes him to the vet next week. They can run a fecal float test on the poop to determine parasites.

As I suggested, she should gather a poop sample to take along with her to the vet next week. No sense treating for worms if the rooster is worm free. A fecal float test can be done quickly and the results could be ready in as little as an hour.
