Well, I didn't think this really fit in the "Emergencies, ect . . ." category. Hope this is the right one . . .
Our rooster has an abnormal beak that has about 1/4 of the top taken off from a cock fight when he was younger. He has gotten along fine since then, but now he is starting to have trouble eating the chicken feed. I think it's really just old age, since he is not exhibiting any other signs of illness or anything like that. He gets his own special mash, which is much easier for him to eat. My question is, is it possible to file down the bottom portion of his beak to help him eat? After this much time, I don't think it has any blood veins in it any more. It has been very worn down, so it is smaller that the rest of his beak.
Thanks!
