Rooster behavior - what’s normal?

Get rid of him. He serves no purpose.

Solve for peace in the flock (and for human safety), and you’ll wonder why you put up with it. There are good roosters out there!

We currently have three cockerels (under 1 year old), and they are in separate pens/runs, all with females of their own. The white one stays for now, but he’s aggressive when he can be. The darker one is well behaved towards humans, but we had this breed before and that past male took over the flock, beat up the prior flock leader within 2 days of trying for top spot, but otherwise was never aggressive, so I’ll assume this one won’t be. We have a speckled cockerel in the main flock, and so far he’s not human aggressive, and only beat up the other speckled male to claim top spot (they were same age), so we are hoping he’s a good boy.

We’ve had a couple of aggressive ones before (at different times) in the main flock. It is NICE when an aggressive one is gone (whether human aggressive or just aggressive to the flock) - you’ll be relieved, and the girls will be more relaxed too!
