I have wondered what my huge rooster was doing when several times a day, all my 50 chickens, as if on a signal, went inside the chicken house.

Yesterday, I was in the run, and close to my roo, Taliban, and he does a little "click, click, click" noise.

Everyone headed for the chicken house, no questions asked. I looked to the East and a flight of Canada geese were overhead, and honking. Taliban was sounding the alarm.

WHAT A CHICKEN. Is he the man or what??

Sounds like quite a man. Doing his job very well!

I'd love a roo, but just dont have the space! After a few years will upgrade coop and get one hopefully

i love the way they protect all their ladies.

I had resisted getting a rooster for a while (I have a toddler). My rooster, Iko, is great. He actively runs from all humans, which is great, but when he sees something flying overhead he herds all the chickens into the coop and pecks and flogs the slow ones. I'm a rooster convert, for now.
