Rooster behavior

    Would a rooster venture away from his hens? I'm thinking jumped the fence, wandered to field, and was killed by coyotes later.Just wondering if he would just leave like that? The hens can't fly, so they can't jump the fence. We couldn't clip his feathers at the time we were doing it to the hens. He was very upset watching...lol

    I don't think he would just do that.I think a hawk got him.A fox,wolf,etc,etc got him and drug him in the field
