I have failed massively on this by just assuming I could add them in straight away and they would be ok. I feel horrendous for that!

They have access to the whole half acre and I have 3 feeding and 3 water stations.

They are meant to start laying in around 2-3 weeks so hoping that will help calm things down as you say!

Thank you very much again!
The onset of lay is going to be delayed due to the stress. And your current girls will likely stop or slow down because of the stress.

How large, in ft x ft, is the coop and how many linear feet of roost space do you have? Are they out at the crack of dawn or do they have to wait around to be let out? Do they also have a large, sheltered predator proof run to access when not out in their larger 1/2 acre pen?
Can you post pictures of your setup?

I was listening to the host of a radio show yesterday talk about how you need to give your past self a break when you made the best decision you could with the information you had at the time. You can't know what you've never learned so please give yourself a break.

You've come to the best place possible for good, sound poultry advice so just keep reading and please do not ever hesitate to ask questions if you have one that you cannot find the answer to. Every situation is unique and lots of us will offer advice based on our real world years of experience keeping chickens.

Enjoy the adventure!
