One of my roosters has died after losing his voice. I did a mini necropsy and didn't see any blockages in the trachea or any signs of parasites. He never stopped eating or drinking but he did start to struggle with breathing. Just curious if anyone had any other ideas of what the issue could have been. I just don't want anything to be passed on to the rest of my flock.

Did there seem to be anything else wrong with him? Discolored comb and wattles? Watery or bubbly eyes?

There was never any discharge from his nose or eyes or watery eyes. Near the end his comb and waddle did get discolored

Did he act completely normal aside of from trouble breathing and no voice? Ruffled feathers, holding wings away from body, etc.?

Yes completely normal and even with the trouble breathing he was not lethargic.

Couls it have been mites in his throat? It's not unheard of, but you definitely don't hear of it often.
