Hello, I'm very new to chickens and I'm in need of some help. I have 4 reds, 2 barred rock, 2 cochins, and 4 bantams. The larger hens are rude to three of the bantams but they don't actively go after them and 99% of the time its peaceful. Recently we had to get rid of our large rooster since he was just too aggressive towards us, we were given a bantam roo who is rather sweet and very talkative when happy. Though he's a bantam he's not much smaller than the large hens who are all under a year, he holds his own against the largest hen but just cannot be around the reds and rocks they will gang up on him and it becomes a peck fest till I get over there or the roo gets away. We are to the point we are going to build a second coop for the big hens. I'm curious if the roo will ever gain confidence or if we just carry on with the coop plans. Any advice helps, thank you!

It sounds to me like he may be younger and not matured yet.
If he is a well behaved rooster i would keep him. If you can put him in a separate place with the hens who get along with him for awhile, it may give him time to adjust to his new home.
Then later when he has more maturity and cofidence introduce the bigger hens, by then they may change there tune, and maybe even take a shine to him.
