Rooster chased off coyote

One day we had a coyote up at our house and it got one of our barred rocks, and our buff Orpington chased him off. Now he has only a couple tail feathers and there were piles of buff feathers in the pasture. Is it normal normal for roosters to do this?

Wow. Amazing. The only times I've seen anything like this is when the coyote was alone & couldn't fit anything more into its mouth and was leaving anyway, or when it was a very young pup.

Roos chasing off coyotes and killing cats...must be something in the water.

I think you should raise as many rooster chicks as possible from this demented crazy but fearless Super-Roo. Any roo that attacks coyote should be worth $$$$$$, you could become RICH!!

Sounds like normal roo behavior to me! last time my roo tried to attack a coyote, the coyote won. Coyote's are the reason our birds are no longer allowed to free-range in the field.
