Rooster closed eye

Thoughts? 4 mo old BCM roo started 5 days ago with one eye closed .would open if startled. I isolated, started saline soaks and flushes and polysporin eye drops. No discharge from eye, or nostrils. Breathing is quiet no crackles or wheezing,sneezing etc. Not drinking and poor appetite have since developed. I have been giving fluids with poultry vitamins by syringe. Poop is looser than norm but not diarrhea. Colour of poop is within normal limits.very lethargic

No blood but there is
mucous

Check his crop early in the morning before he eats or drinks anything and see how full it is.
You might want to give him Nutri-Drench.

How much fluid is he getting? Can you increase his fluid intake to 45 ml per pound of body weight per day?

I had one do something similar. I used apple cider vinegar on the back of his neck in addition to washing his eyes for a few days and he got right back to normal. I tried the ACV because I had heard (can't remember where) that it helps to drain infection away from the head. Can't say if that's exactly what it does, but it does seem to help with head/respiratory issues.
