Rooster Comb Shrinking

Not unusual for hormonal levels to decrease during a molt as all energy goes towards feather development. Day light period has an impact on roosters as well as on hens resulting in lowered testosterone levels. He will regain his mojo as the molt concludes and day light period increases.

Huh that is pretty interesting! I've never heard of that happening before. Did you change their feed recently or possibly start giving or take away something from their diet that could have caused that?

Not at all. Ever process a rooster in the winter? Testes are 1/3 the normal size. This results in lowered fertility rates.
