Rooster coop ideas

I breed and show chickens, mainly bantams. I already have a few breeding flocks of bantams. The thing is I find the roosters are the most successful at shows and look the nicest to me. I would like to keep a few extra roosters of pekin bantams (cochin bantams), sebright, serama, and silkie maybe, just for shows. I don't want to have more hens. Should I make an extra coop with a few of these, will they all live together fine or will they all need to be housed separately.

In my experiences keeping extra bantam rooster it all depends on how bonded they are to each other. I have been able to keep pairs and trios successfully, but more than that there is fighting, and gang mating of the more meek roosters. Since you are keeping them for show I'd probably make pens for pairs and see, try to keep those raised together, as those generally do best.

I might just start of with 1 pair to see how it goes and I could make more pens again. Do you think if the rooster can see hens, will they fight.

Mine never fought, and I prefer to keep them where they can see and interact through the fence with the hens. It is important they get along, than go from there. Can't say they will never fight. I kept brothers penned together. From different batches may not work out.

Some are just Eire pens inside my shed, and I've used an outside run, as well as setting up a temporary pen out in the yard. Nothing fancy.
