You're welcome.

I do know that some folks build a rooster coop in their garage. You can make it dark and soundproof. It's like a rooster camp.

Good luck! I love my boys and love their happy crows. My chicken yard would be sadder (and quieter) without the boys. At one point there were 14 young roosters out there making a joyful noise. HeHe. Thankfully most of them went away, but it was certainly enthusiastic out there for a while.

Why not put him in the cellar where his crowing will be muffled enough that the neighbors will not hear him? Then he could be put outside mid morning or so.

build a coop. Make it so your roo can not get out till, say 9 a.m. Then, no prob. The coop will muffle him enough. Also, floaters will crow for no apparent reason. At all hours. I swear, some will crow just because they pooped. Lol. Ok, just kidding on that one.

Can I make a suggestion without coming over as mean?

It's really difficult to read your posts when 'lol' is all over the place, followed by a ton of !!! and ??. Hope you don't feel offended

As for the rooster, I would suggest checking up on your noise ordinances. Some places state certain hours for quiet. A city near me says: 11pm - 7am the noise ordinance is in effect.
If you don't have one, I say let the rooster crow. It's less irritating than a dog, but that's just me I guess.

Wow. I live in an older house without insulation in the walls (the south - not much cold weather) and my own rooster doesn't even wake me up. Either that guy is a light sleeper or his house is much too close to the coop.

Ditto! City girl but always wanted to be a country girl. Live in the country now, soooo happy to have chickens. I hope my roo's crowing doesn't bother the ladies across the road, but we ARE in the country! I loooove hearing my neighbor's cows, etc.

hahahahaha they dont live that close to the coop. i think he just needs something to do during the day. and yes i think he is a light sleeper too. i mean our house is closer to the coop than his is. it wakes me up not at 4:30 but at 6 and even then i go right back to sleep.lol i wish he would just stop complaining and enjoy his beautiful singing voice lol!!!!
