Rooster crowing - turned out well

Well, yes, there is a such thing as rooster castration. Can't at this moment remember what it is called. But a simpler solution would be to collect the eggs every day and eat them! The fertile ones tastes the same.
It's called caponizing. It's actually a cruel practice where roosters are cut open without anesthesia and their testes are removed, some don't survive.

I was trying to be sarcastic. Wasn't serious at all. (Hense the lol). Ugh. Now I sound like a chicken abuser...

I'm just new to all this. Idk anything about the collars doing that and the neutering going so bad.. I only know what my Dad did, he never neutered or used the collar, so I'm just learning now.

Well welcome to the hobby and the website, hopefully I didn't sound harsh. I like sharing chicken stuff, maybe too much sometimes.

No, no. You didnt sound like a chicken abuser. Sorry, i am a victim of not picking up on sarcasm sometimes, especially in text. And you might be surprised by the amount of ppl who think baby chicks are inevitable if a rooster is around! Just thought i was educating!!!

At 10Acre, my only sense of humor is sarcasm, should of added a disclaimer at the end. But yes, I do worry about predators. Living in the south, and all. An they are numerous, from as big as loose dogs, to coyotes. To as small as rodents. My bf wants to put the coop in the far end of the backyard, (we barely have a front yard, but a huge backyard). I want to have it closer to the house. We live in a manufactured home. How close do you think it should be?
