Rooster crowing when I leave him

Like the title says, my favorite little rooster, Nugget, doesn't crow when I'm with him, but as soon as I leave and go back inside my house, he crows incessantly. It's not really a problem, I'm just wondering why.

Nugget is such a cute name for a roo!
It could be because he considers you the "head rooster" and doesn't want to challenge your authority. Or maybe your absence makes him anxious.
