I will post pictures of his bill, just another update, when I went in to feed him this morning his food seemed to have been picked at, and there were crumbs of the food in his water, I am hoping that he has figured out how to eat again. I tried to give him more applesauce and he didn't seem to want it, he was taking it without much of a struggle before, today he kept turning his head like he didn't want it. His one eye is still bad, I think he is going to loose the right one, but the left one is bright as ever, he looks very alert. He stands fine, just doesn't walk around a lot. I am happy with his progress!

In hot weather maggots can hatch in only a few hours. One can easily check and everything be fine in the morning and check again in the afternoon and not be fine. There is no reason to be laying blame on the OP.
Glad your little guyis still hanging on. Hope your care gets him better. Have you considered that this could have been a rat attack? Recently someone had very graphic pictures on BYC of her 2 silkies faces being eaten off by what apparently were rats in the coop. Since I have a couple of silkies among a few other bantams, that gives me the shivers.
Just another update, He is now in the care of an Avian Vet. I dropped him off about an hour ago. He still seemed to be improving and getting more perky by the day....but his comb has now split open and is open to his sinus cavity. Please keep the little guy in your thoughts.
oh my, i am so sorry for your problems. it makes me hurt. i hope he gets better soon. my little daisey has a hurt leg and that is enough for me. i couldnt imagine what you are feeling and him too. i know it would be hard. again so sorry!!
thank you, I am hoping the vet can help him. He seems okay, I know he has to be hurting. The comb just doesn't look good at all...i'm hoping there is a way to repair it.
