No advice needed really. Just need a shoulder.
My roos are 7 months old and have been together their entire lives. They have never had an issue. Not one peck, chase, fight, etc. Nothing. Today out of no where my neighbor calls me to tell me both roos are a bloody mess in her lawn (we each have multiple acres and free range our chickens openly).
When was get over there one isn't walking and I capture him quickly. The other leads the hens away but I can tell he's ok, just bloody.
After I get them both cleaned up, it turns out one has significant damage to his waddle and the other just has a cut in his comb. My husband is a nurse so we have lots of materials and knowledge and fixed both of them up. The more injured one is in isolation for 24 hours to rest and recover. He was falling asleep in my arms.
Anyway, I know these things happen, and it will probably happen again. I just hate that it does.
