Rooster for Red Star hens.

What type of rooster would you use for Red star hens? I can get a RIR from my sister. I'd probably only hatch one batch.

Red stars are sex-linked laying hybrids so they're already a mix and there's no particular reason to use one type of rooster rather than another.

Find a well-behaved fellow whom you consider attractive -- though if eggs are a main focus for you then better to have a breed that lays well as half the genetics in your next batch than an ornamental breed or a bantam.
