Rooster Getting Aggressive

Ahhhh. I was thinking geez mine have to be chased away to make them go scratch in the leaves, they won't leave. I've never had a free ranger leave unless they fed themselves to a fox.

Did y'all have a rumble and you tossed him out?

Well the plan was to knock him off with a pistol shot to the head but that didn't work out so good. I could not get him to separate from the pullets.

My buddy has told me many times how he used a coat hanger to catch chickens... well that didn't work so good either.

I did manage to corner him when he took a wrong turn between the run and the door and grabbed him by the neck but didn't have it in me to kill him by hand so to get some separation I put him out of the run. My neighbor suggested letting him free range on the two properties so that thought was in the back of my head as well. I thought he would stick close and I could cobble up some kind of coop for him and get a makeshift fence up... but after the temper tantrum he just wandered off into the woods. Yesterday evening I checked to see if he had went to the neighbors place (she has free range chickens but he was not there.

I really did want him to work out and be a part of the chicken community. After seeing the temper tantrum yesterday I know he has a short circuit and when I see him again I'll do the right thing.
