My rooster is just recently going after one of our hens. I thought it was for mating at first, but the back of her neck is tore up. She has seperated herself from the flock and seems very subdued. We've had her for about 6months without the rooster going after her this way. He would only do a pecking order type chase. We're not sure how old she is since we've bought her at full size. When we got her we introduced another hen at the same time without any problems. (we have a total of 5 hens). Not sure what do with her or him. The rooster is a great leader and has been for 3 years. Not sure if we keep letting him do what he's doing to her and let things work itself out or get her own flock to hang out with, which we have done in the past with another hen he didn't like. Also, she is a Brahma and the other hen he didn't like was a bantam. (which is pictured as my profile pic) they look very similiar except the new one is twice the size as the Bantam was. Does that make a differance?
