Rooster/hen (not sure) "squatting"

A cockerel. Do you see the red leakage on the wings? That is a cockerel only trait. You can also see plenty of sharp feathers many places.

But what about the way she acts? What about the squatting?

And what about her new interest in the nesting boxes? Its not a sign of almost laying? Like i said i know she looks like a roo, and if i was going strictly off of appearances, she would probably have been re-homed by now.. But the actions..

Such a cutie!! It looks like a rooster. By the way I am also having problems introducing my little ones to the mama hens because they sure are fiesty. Usually the mama hens get over it in a few days but if your coop is big enough the little ones should be able to run around and get out of their grasp.

As for the squatting it’s probably trying to be submissive so he sees you as his owner!
